The horn stopped working the other day
new fuse then it worked
Driving home today and turned my steering wheel to the left and turned on my blinker and the blinker started going super speed. Then my horn wouldn't work and there's a low popping sound coming from the fuse box when I press the horn.
Anyone got any clues/ideas?
I'm thinking its a loose wiring component in the steering wheel??
I'm loving my new to me 06 F350 SD XLT 5.4L! This year I put 3800 pounds of pea stone in the back and it hauled it like I could handle another 1000! The tires were saggin a little tho lol. What a nice machine tho!
I would start simple, I would disconnect the wire or wires from the horn, usually one wire, replace fuse, press horn button on steering, if fuse does not blow, replace horn. If fuse blows out, electrical problem.
X2 on keeping it simple first. Have you checked the all of the turn signal and tail light bulbs to make sure you haven't blown one? When the signal starts blinking super fast like that, it's one of the first things I check because it's usually a blown or burned out bulb.
I would start with the actual horn. If it is shorted out it would cause the whole circuit to fualt. Start from the device and work back to the relay then to the fuse box, then to the steering wheel contacting ring last.
