We had horrible weather for most of the holidays, but that makes it OK to work in the barn!!
I had help from two of my sons who were home for the holidays, along with my brother-in-law.
We tore into the old F2, and removed the front clip and cab. We prepped the cab and installed it onto my "new" chassis that I bought from Ilya.
I also finished the engine build, replaced the gaskets and seals on the transmission, and installed those on the chassis as well. I had been planning to use my F2 front clip, but now that I look at it, I think it'll look funny if I use fenders up front with F2 sized wheel openings, and F1 fenders in the rear. The new plan forming up is maybe to go with some fiberglass F1 fenders in the front. Any thoughts on that???

And....time for the engine build!!
It wouldn't be right to post this without a pic of the crew:
what a great holiday! looks like a fine family crew. i work in my truck (and his) with my brother in law at his house, before that my sister said she seldom saw me. now i'm there 2x per week.
I have the same garage, but mine has a 4 post lift.Of all the $ I have spent in old cars and trucks the lift is one of the best things I ever bought.Once you have one,you wonder why you waited so long.
Dan, after setting the body, prop-up the F-2 fenders on the front and F-1 or other fenders on the back for review. I've seen a few F-1 with F-3 fenders and they don't look bad to me. i would rather have metal fenders any day. chuck
Your truck is obviously a street rod and with the IFS will be lower than stock. Definitely consider going with F-1 fenders. The F-2 fenders will have a large gap over the front tires which will tend to make the truck look higher and more like a stocker...
longer fenders on a short box??? that would look bad azz....has anyone done it?
I don't know if the fenders are any longer or shorter, but the problem is F2 fenders are narrower than F1 fenders, since the box is wider and takes up some of that space. Putting F2 fenders on an F1 box would lose about half your tire clearance. Not good.
