braided brake lines?

Yes. Before getting lines and going threw all the work I would suggest changing the fluid and make sure any air bubbles are out of the system.
99% of the time people experience better braking after getting braided lines only because of the fluid change and a good bleed.
Adjusting up the booster rod like in the links is also important. If the actuator rod isn't adjusted right your brakes will always feel like crap.

well i bleed the brakes this summer twice, first with the truck off and then again with it running. but i just adjusted the rod behind the master cylinder one turn and holly crap!! its actually like a night and day difference, i cant believe how much stronger and firmer my brake pedal is now. good thing i asked before spending $200 on braided lines because i don't need them now.
