Even driving by that accident scene tonite I still felt quite distressed.
She was mental challenged from the removal of a brain tumor years ago.
She was just a little over 4 ft tall so the driver may not have seen her even if he was watching closely. This is info from her obituary in the paper.
The event becomes more clear with every detail... Sort of makes the situation a little worse, because someone should have been watching out for her. Oh well, that is life, and the uncertainty of it. May she rest in peace, and the poor person who was unfortunate to be the driver, may they have rest in their minds...somehow...
She was diagnosed with a cancerous brain tumor at 18 months of age, only expected to live another two years, 7 surgeries over the next year then several rounds of radiation.
Amazingly even with all this she did graduate from high school.
I know of the person that was killed. She was only 4ft2 . She manage to graduate and always put a smile on Sobeys customers faces. My deceased mother in law just loved her and always talked with her.
She was a hard worker and delivring grocery's to your car in -30 weather did not slow her down.
I admired her for all the difficuties she overcame and how many people she touched their hearts with smile and that strength her little body put out to get her work done. She was a hard worker even with her disability.
I wonder if the 22 year old that drove the truck was driving a lifted truck. That would make it really hard for him to see her petite size.
