1987 351 H.O.
What made the 351w a high output motor in the 84 1/2 through 87 F-series trucks? Roller cam & lifters? Or was it the 4-barrel intake matched with better heads. I have a 1987 F-350 4x4 with 3.54 gears and C-6. It also has the factory holly 4-barrel. Do I have the E7TE heads on my truck?

I'm not quite sure but did it have the roller cam and lifters stock. I have an 87 f-150 w/ stock gears and a 351w with a carter performance 4 barrell, complete 3" flowmaster exhaust, MSD box, and a K&N open element and it doesn't seem to be a very powerful thing, but maybe it is just my 33" mud ter.'s and being a 4X4

I found out that they didn't have a roller cam in the trucks till 1993. I think it was a change in the exaust manifold and the 4-barrel carb that made them a H.O. But not sure. Can someone answer?
