Still got an exhaust leak between uppers and turbo
I've just put in bellowed up pipes (from Clay).
I took special care to make sure the pin on the BB aligned with the guide hole in the turbo exhaust inlet. I know that I got it aligned because I got the donut exhaust clamp on OK. I've tightened the clamp right up, run the engine until warm, tightened in up some more. After some 300 miles I notice that I have tell tale signs of exhaust soot deposited on the housing base plate of the compressor wheel, and feeling around the bottom of the union between the BB and the turbo, there is a lot of oil soot.
Obviously I've got to take the clamp off and do it again, but am I missing something here? I'm still using the stock clamp with the new IH uppers and the stock turbo. Is this OK? Now the problem seems to be the top side of the BB to turbo is sealing but somehow there is a leak on the bottom side. Is there any trick to getting the thing to seal all the way around?
Any ideas would be welcome!

Hi Richard, thanks for the suggestion. I gave it a go. Bingo, the exhaust leak now seems cured! I'll confirm with a road test tomorrow.
Thanks Ray, while doing the above I also removed the clamp and greased the V parts. Once fitted I was able to tighten the clamp up to the end of the treads. So I'm fairly confident I've got it sealed good and proper this time!

Road test completed. The engine is real quiet now. At max throttle it is still pulling 18psi boost. I was sort of expecting a tiny bit more now that the exhaust leak is completely fixed.
Main points learned:
1) grease uppers to turbo clamp before fitting to ensure the V parts of the clamp don't bind on the BB or turbo housing thus stopping the clamp from being fully tightened.
2) when fitting the uppers do up the manifold bolts as loosely as possible to allow enough movement of the uppers to get the BB pin aligned with the turbo housing and get the clamp on. Lastly, do up the uppers to manifold bolts.
