2002 misfire codes
So, I got the codes and thought it would be simple. But, I was given 4 different codes. In the past it's always been only one coil. Why are there 4 codes? I figured I could do the mechanical part myself. In the past I've paid from $250 to $300 per coil to have this done. I want to do it myself.
Any sugestions?
These are the codes.
P0303
P0308
P0316
P0301
I'm broke and still love my truck.
The cylinder count begins on the passenger front to rear, then driver side from the front to rear.
The 316 code is just reporting missfires upon cranking and inital startup.
It could be plugs, coil boots, coils or moisture in the wells causing the issue.
Do not run the truck with any missfire or you take the chance of losing the cats to overheating by burning raw fuel in them.
Best to measure each coil for an open winding on primary or secondary.
Resistance "values" mean nothing on these coils.
