1970 f250
ok thats what i thought, the mounts that are on this truck look like this
1964-1969 FORD 390 427 428 FAIRLANE TORINO MOTOR MOUNTS on eBay!
but it also looks like they had to modify it to make them work. i checked the stroke of it today and it is 3 3/4 so it is probably a 390
The only Ford ID tag is under one of the bolts that retains the inspection cover to the housing (many are missing today). The tag has a Ford ID number stamped on it and sometimes the ratio, there is no mention of Dana.
Dana 60's were installed in F250's, Dana 70's were installed in F350's. But who knows if the rear end has been swapped?
There is no such thing as a Dana 60 or 70 with a 3.26-1 ratio. Thru 1979, the lowest numerical ratio for a Dana 60 was 3.54-1. 3.07's and 3.23's were offered 1980/85, but both are rarer than hens teeth.
1967/85 Dana 70, the lowest numerical ratio was 3.73-1.
How wide are the rear brake shoes? F350/Dana 70: 12" x 3" / F250/Dana 60: either 12 1/8" x 2" or 12" x 2 1/2" / The reason for the two sizes has to do with the GVW.

The rubber insulators (and the steel supports they bolt to) used on Passenger Cars are not the same as used on F100/350's.
1965/67 F100/350 352 & 1968/76 F100/350 360/390 use the same rubber insulators, which are right/left specific.
1958/64: Only passenger cars were available with FE engines. The 1965/76 FE car/truck blocks have a different engine bolt pattern for the insulators than 1958/64's.
People that swap these 1958/64 engines into their 1965/76 F100/350's have to modify the parts to fit, why you may find Passenger Car insulators on a truck.
1958/64 FE engines have rounded valve covers without holes for oil caps/smog valve, have an oil fill tube on the right (passenger) side. Some of these valve covers are marked FORD, THUNDERBIRD or MERCURY.
1965/76 FE engines have pent roofed shaped valve covers with oil cap/smog valve holes, there in no oil fill tube. 1967/76 FE's have Powered by Ford (or Mercury) marked on the valve covers.
btw: While the FE truck insulators work with 410/428 engines, neither was factory installed in any F100/350. 410: 1966/67 Mercury Parklane only / 428: 1966/70 Ford/Merc Passenger Cars.
Should be able to find a donor rear end without too much trouble...
Look for Dana 60's in F250's, especially Camper Specials. CSpecials
usually had pretty good gearing (3.73 or so) for good highway
performance. Take the inspection cover off and have a look...brakes
will need to be redone likely. Tag, if there will give you the ratio.
