cool finds

hello everyone,i was cleaning my doors in the inside tonight and i found some dirt but not too much rust, thank God,,, i found a 1944 silver quarter with all that dirt, did some research on the coin and it could be worth over 600 bucks because its rare... when i cleaned my cab before,i found a little message from the orig owner (i think) that said:'' i bought this truck in 1955, its a swell truck...what is the most interesting thing you have found in your old truck or old car?

When I was rebuilding my 48 Aerosedan I had a parts car that was so rusty I literally tore the floor in half. I was moving the doors and a little yellow thing fell out the bottom of one of them. I picked it up and wiped it off - it was a little plastic race car like you might have found in a cereal box in the 50's. Intrigued, I started shaking the door and a little red car dropped out!

I parted out a 1954 F250 a few years back and when I unbolted the upper valance for the hood latch I found taped to the horn wire a brand NEW ORIGINAL set of KEYS. PO must have put them there so they would have a set if they lost their keys!

I keep looking, but so far I've only found rust and dirt. Hope you do better.

The coolest thing I found was these insurance cards from 1952 showing the original owner of my Mercury truck. That led to a post here on the forum, which lead to a member putting me in contact with the family in Canada. They just sent me pictures of the truck when it was new. I hope to be able to share those soon.

I'm with Tom! Cool fer sure. I found the same in my '62 Mercury Meteor. Maybe I should try to contact the original owner, too.

Hmm... Let see... I only found an 80s Pepsi can and a 60s or 70s empty glass bottle of Budweiser.

In the 37 Airflow, I too, found a mouse's nest, as well as the dead mouse. In the glove box and attached to the steering wheel were the registration slips to the 2nd owner.
