need a heat wave
I know it's January and I am in northern Indiana, but ITS FREAKIN COLD OUT THERE!!!!!! 2 degrees this morning and a forecasted high of 17??????? REALLY??? I mean, REALLY?!?!?!?!?!?! I'm not saying that Hell has actually frozen over, but I heard Satan has dug out his electric blanket and thermal underwear....

Afternoon everyone!
We'll we had an AWESOME time this weekend toboganning at Pokagon.
We went two different times yesterday and got in 4 times the first hour and 5 times the second hour...not too bad.
Then this morning we were there when it opened at 10am and had the wife serve as shuttle driver to knock out the killer walk back up the hill and we got in EIGHT rides in the hour!!!
Here's some photos:
If you have never gone to Pokagon in the winter to toboggan...it is a BLAST...even though it never made it out of single digits...I still broke out into a sweat carrying the sled...
Our "top-speed" run was 35mph!!!...we kept hovering at 34mph and got the workers to give us one extra hard push at the top and we hit 35!!!
Hope everyone is having fun watching the football game and hope Dave got some shut-eye!!!

sorry, but even after 38 winters in this area, I still can't understand the need of some people to actually go out and "enjoy" the snow and cold.... I wish I could afford to move to Arizona or New Mexico for the winters.... then I could find much more solid projects!!

HAHA...yeah...I'm one of those people that like the cold...
I was in Phoenix a couple of January's ago on business...it was in the low 80's and I was dying from the heat...I can put ON clothes but I can't take OFF enough to stay cool without getting arrested out in those warm climates!
I do understand the desire for warmer weather though...it just isn't for me! :-)

Good evening Indiana! I think my plan to send you all my cold air back fired... it was -16 here this morning, and we never got out of the single digits today.
Looks like a fun time Joe! Don't think I've ever seen a toboggan run like that, sort of like a bobsled run!

Yeah the toboggan run is more like a bobsled run...kinda unique...and at a state park too!
For times when it isn't this freakin cold...the track is refrigerated too to keep the ice frozen!!!
It was cold here today...but not -16 cold...brrrrr...try and stay warm my friend!

Holy crap Joe... that is one loooong azz toboggan run!
I'd be paying somebody to drag the sled back to the top. Heck I'd probably pay someone to drag me back up there.
