Carlene - I think of West Palm every time I play golf. A long time ago I lived in Plantation and the newest golf rage was the Ping putter, but they were very hard to find. I heard that the pro at a club in West Palm had one for sale so I drove up and gave him $35 for it (a lot for a club back then). That was over 30 years ago and I still am using it.

I'm not a golfer, but definately have seen all the changes down here. I've been in Fla. for about 27 yrs and you wouldn't even recognize the place. The main east-west road that used to be dirt is again overcrowded at 8 lanes.

I think they put a golf course in with every new housing development. And the building just goes on & on. Don't have much in the way of wooded areas left.

You ever plan a trip down here, let me know. We'll make you feel at home and just might be able to talk my brother into taking you golfing.

 

...I grw up there...havent been back for longer than a couple of days at a time since I enlisted back in '78...say hi to my mom for me though...
