Just got a 91 f250. Last week I filled both tanks. Front guage acting bad, never went above half tank. Drove about 100 miles. Filled it today, 8 gallons. Gage never went above half aigin. 20 miles later gage showed empty, at the 40 mile mark truck stalled, running out of gas. Rear tank was full, gage showing full also. How did the vapor lock thing happen? Truck runs well, no smoking, hesitation, etc. Since the first fill up I have been running on front tank, till ran out today. Vapor lock? Bad fuel pump? Opinions please......
someone maybe stole gas out of your front tank? hole in the tank/lines if you got a ruptured line she will empty out right quick. gotta start somewhere.
Front tanks are real prone to rust failure!! also pump switch valve can malfunction in such a way that it turns into a transfer valve in which one tank just empties into other..

91's shouldn't have that valve...they are individual pumps inside of the tank with a dash switch that engages each pump separately.
yeah 91s had that valve. I had a 89 f150 4x4 lariat with 2 tanks i bought brand new in 89, at about 125k if i had both tanks full and was using off the back tank it would overfill my front tank. i always had to use the front tank first.
