Hey all we had a problem today 01 Ex. v10............ Went out and it was parked in a odd spot and needed the 4x4 to back out of a slick spot. It didn't work. I have Super W. manual locking hubs and the 4x4 light was on.
I rocked it forward and backward and nothing would engage. This evening I left work kicked the switch on with the hubs still locked and the 4x4 worked. This is the only problem I have ever had but this was the one time I truly needed it.

Got any input on the issue?
Thanks

With the manual hubs that you have installed you need a bit of tire rotation in order to lock the hubs to the axle shafts. My bet is that rocking just wasn't enough. You can reach behind the wheel and manually turn the axle (at the u joint) to make sure they are locked after you have turned the dial on the hub.
even with the esof, there needs to be 'some' movement before they will engage (and disengage if the BUCKING I've encountered when I forgot it was on and turned sharply on pavement )
