99 Explorer E.B. w/ 85K mi.

I purchased a 99 explorer eddie bauer edition (5.0 V8) with 85k mi yesterday. The vehicle is very clean, close to new like condition, a lease return 1 owner. I was a little worried about the high miles. I had it checked out by a mechanic who said that it seemed to have been very well maintained and that it would need new shocks soon, an air filter and maybe a transmission flush. Nothing that should prevent me from buying it.

I just foud this site and wanted to see if anyone had any opinions on this purchase based on my nutshell description.

is the the AWD or just a 2 Wheel drive Explorer, also does it have the air Ride supension that can cost an arm and a leg to get the shock's replaced $200.00 per shock I think, my girl friend just got a 97 explorer E.B 5.0 L V8 with AWD and it is pretty sweet we have had it 2 months and other that the rear wiper motor making noies when in use not to many problems, "dealer fixed the wiper motor for free anyway's" it also has 124,000 miles on it. and still going strong, any way I would check out the air ride supension ours dosn't have it but if it does it is cool at highway speeds lowers the vechile a couple of inche's to increase gas mileage and the when under 35 MPH, raise it up to handle corners and bumps of into driving, but it is costly to have fixed when they go bad,
