New guy on here. I just got a 05 F 350 6.0l Lariat SD CC FX4 DRW. And I would like to get a warranty plan for it. Does anyone know where I could get a good plan at? I know the cost can be high on a Diesel engine.
Welcome to FTE. If you want an extended warranty, be sure not to add any modifications to your truck. The only one that will really be worthwhile (if you can afford the down time while it sits at the shop) is the Ford ESP warranty.
It's late now, but if you wait till tomorrow PartsGuyEd will stick his nose in here and you can get in touch with him about buying a Ford ESP warranty that is good at any Ford dealer across the country.
Id go with parts guy ed or your local dealership if you trust them.
I gotta Ford esp Deisel warrenty. Best money ive spend. Had it for 3 weeks and i already did EGR cooler, Oil cooler and EGR valve. And i dont even have a problematic 6.0 hahah
I recently asked a similar question in the 6.2 Boss forum and someone provided me a link to get in touch with Ed. Mine was a new vehical that I will be using for commecial purposes, but his was the least expensive by a few hundred bucks of the ones that I got quotes from. You may be able to reach him @ parts@horizonford.com
A Ford backed ESP or DieselCare would be what you want. Unfortunately, you may find out that you cannot buy it because you are already outside the original warranty period. At least most '05 would be, unless it was first purchased late.
You can still buy a 3rd party warranty, but I would not.
thanks Guys for the info. Looks like open a savings acct. is the way to go then. The truck has 151000 miles on it. The only things I think thats gone wrong on it turbo last year new one installed and 2yrs. ago I think head gasket.
The truck was one of the companys work trucks we used. And it was well maintain.
