Question 2003 Excursion sloppy steering

Hey everyone! Im a newbie here. This is my 1st thread too! Im having steering issues with my 2003 Excursion, 7.3L Diesel (LOVE IT!). The steering wheel shakes and/or moves to the left & right when I go over any kind of bump. It feels like my truck is floating. Ive changed out ALL shocks, the steering stabilizer shock and have had the alignment checked numerous times too. Ive been looking around the internet and from what I can find, it seems as if the problem could be the steering shaft bearings.?.?.? Ive read that there are 3 seperate bearings, a inner, an outer and an intermediate. If anyone has had this same thing and/or know how to fix this, plsssss let me know. Its really making me nuts trying to figure out what is causing this to happen. Or...if there's a thread that deals with this issue, pls let me know what the thread is called and I'll ck that out too. THX! Happy New Years to all too!

I've read others have changed the steering box to an aftermarket. I can't remember the name. Redbox or something like that? I know that's not it because that is the movie rental kiosk. Do a search here and you'll find it.

You can also try a simple 10 minute adjustment to your steering box to try and tighten it up...it is very easy and straight forward...here is an excellent link to follow...page 1 has the step by step write up and page 6 has a nice photo...I'm not sure if the photo is of a V10 or PSD...the PSD probably has some other "stuff" in the way...

Good luck,
