Electrical problem, not battery or alternator?
On my 04 F-150, I have been having a problem with the electrical charging system. The battery keeps dieing, and I can't figure out why. I replaced the battery in October with a Duralast Gold battery. It didn't solve the problem, so I replaced the factory alternator with a 270 amp high output one, but I'm still having this problem. A lot of cold mornings, it won't even start, or other days it will do the thing were the gauages shake all crazy (which I think is a symptom of a bad battery). I took it to Autozone, where they tested the battery and alternator, and they said everything was alright. Im wondering do you think it could be a short somewhere or what? Also, is there anyway I can test how many amps im getting from the alternator? Any suggestions? Thanks

you have a ground somewhere that is draining the battery.
you've already replaced to 2 most common factors. now you need to start looking for shorts or other loads that are staying energized. have you recently installed any electrical equipment?
