brake light stuck on

I have a 97 F-150 extra cab 4x4 (4.6 V8). Lately I have noticed that when I park and leave my truck the rear brake lights stay on. I have to go back into the cab and pull the pedal forward to turn them off. I followed the brake pedal up underneath the dash and noticed a plug connected to a bolt with a codder pin attached to it. Is there sometype of adjustment I can make to fix this problem?

here's the story did the pedal move much when you pulled on it, yes your brakes may be staying applied, (havent had that before) if it only moves very little then you need to replace the switch. ( done more of those than I can count) good luck
