oil pressure

I have started my truck a couple of times today and the last few times i have started it it sounded weird. I noticed when putting the key in and waiting for the wait to start light to go out that the oil pressure gauge does not move. If i remember correctly the needle moves before the truck starts. While driving the it reads normal. The weird noise it makes right at start up scares me now. Sounds like there is no oil on start up, I do need a oil change which I just purchased Rotella T6 earlier today.
Any thoughts would be great.

I am fairly certain that the oil needle doesn't move before the truck is started. Is it like a buzzing noise?

No buzzing noise right on start up its like its a dry start up. Just checked the oil in it, oil is at a perfect level. We are taking to the truck to go snowboarding this weekend and dont want to have any issues.

Just checked mine. The gauge doesn't move when turning the key to start, without starting engine. I think you are OK... Can't help ya with the noise.. (after starting the engine, the oil gauge jumps to normal after about 1 second )

Plug it in tonight and see if that doesn't make it sound better. They sound like crap when cold. I think the gauge is fine.

It was pluged up this morning it started just fine. I drove it to get inspected, it sat in the shop for about a hour and it started but i didnt noticed the noise then. I then drove to get the oil for and filter to change tomorrow and noticed the noise starting up. Very hard to describe the noise on start up.

Is it a dragging sound like maybe low or bad batteries?

It was 15 deg. here this morning. I waited for the wts to go out and then waited another 45 seconds. Key off and on again for 45 sec. It started, but turned over slow. I have good batteries. (not plugged in) Jim

What about the starter, what side of the truck is that on? The noise comes from the drivers side
