engine swap problem

I am in the process of swapping my 1991 f350 7.3 idi with a 1993 e350 7.3 idi. I've got the new one in and almost done, but I've run into a problem. The front end of the engine is pointing too far upwards. It's like the engine and tranny are tilted backwards. I thought I put everything in right, does anyone know why it is doing this?

Did you put the engine and trans in connected to each other?

Only thing I can think of is check your engine and trans mounts.

The engine does tilt back a LITTLE but not that much.

Yes, I pulled it all out as one unit, and put it back that way. I just put the radiator and core support back in, and that's when I noticed the problem. If a have the core support mounted high enough where the fan cover doesnt hit the fan, then the radiator cap is about 3 inches higher then the fenders, and I know that that isn't right because the hood won't be able to close...

The engine mounts have to be fine, I used the ones from my truck, so they're the same. I'm wondering if somthing is wrong on the back end of the transmission. I had to take that crossmember piece off and maybe I put it back wrong, I had it out of there for a couple of months, I might have forgotten how it's supposed to be ...

Does anyone have a picture of how that is supposed to be back there? Mine is a 4x4 zf5.

Did you change the exhaust manifolds and oil cooler?

F series and E series are different.

This sounds like an area to check. Since the engine mounts are the same, and the fornt of the engine is higher, logic says the rear trans mount is low.

It turns out I may have been wrong all along. I think it is the way it is supposed to be. It just didn't look right to me at first. I had kind of forgotten, its been apart for 4 months.

I looked at mine and the rad and cap sit way above the core support. Looks like the hood should hit but it don't. Before doing anything else, put the hood on and see if it clears.
