Garage Door Opener - Need Assistance

OK Boys and Girls,

I have attempted to program my garage door opener (system on drivers side visor of new F350 Lariat) half a dozen times with no success. I'm wondering if anyone else has the old garage door opener with only the +/- no middle settings?

I fully admit I am not smarter than a 5th grader but have followed the directions to the T with no success. Any magic you can share would be appreciated.

Epic...I would love one of your fantastic videos for this stupid thing - YOU ROCK!

Hhhmm okay - not sure if it is the pre 93 version, does it have the programmable learn button on the back? If it does, are you able to reset/reprogram your door opener remote to verify the learn/program mode is operating correctly?

Nope - it has about ten toggles on the garage door opener itself and then the remote has the same toggles on it. You position them the same on each unit and you are good to go. My wife's cadi programmed using the remote and it worked fine but the new F350 is giving me a hell of a time.

Sounds like your opener has a fixed code. Maybe try the +/- as left/middle and if that doesn't work, try it as left/right or middle/right for the combinations

And if all else fails, maybe try contacting Car2U directly. Number in the manual is 1-866-572-2728.

I photo copied the stupid thing, highlighted the appropriate L or R and followed the directions step by step with no success. I was sober at the time....maybe that was my problem

Lol, step one, realizing you have a problem, sobriety.

Lear Car2U System: Home Automation System has some good info too. They also offer a module that plugs into your opener that'll allow you to use the buttons in the visor.

Mine works fine with my Genie system. You must have a learning button on the opener to do the program. If you have the instructions for the Stanley opener see if it has a program button. Like you said follow the instructions exactly. Mine was a little bitchy to set up but it works ok now

So I drank a six pack and attempted this about a dozen more time. Decided it was easier to rip off the visor and throw it at the door. I sure will miss that visor...LMAO!

Seriously, I see page 119 of the owners manual has a number for CAR2U. I am going to give them a call and will let everyone know how it goes.

The Ford system is SO MUCH easier than my Wife's Volvo Homelink crap. What a pain.

Just got off the phone with the CAR2U help desk. They had me take the code off the garage door opener vs. the remote and had me enter it into the system. She had me do it forward the first time with no success. She then had me enter it in backward from 10-1 and presto we are in business.

It was also alot easier with the visor in my hand vs attached to the truck J/K!

Kudos to the CAR2U folks. They answered right away...no wait, very helpful and polite.

Thanks for the number - I missed your response but you still pointed me in the right direction.

Nice, glad it worked! I have yet to mess with mine but I'm in no hurry.
