Well...
my tailpipe fell off today.
1988 F-150, 5.0, Short Bed, dual tank.
So naturally, I am thinking upgrade!
I am interested in installing a dual exhaust (rear exit) cat back system. Flowmaster, Gibson, Borla?
I know this is probably a great place to start exploring this option.
Any insight or recommendations are appreciated.
Please include pricing, installation, or any other related info.
Thanks!
Look under tech articles on the right side of your screen, there's an article there on installing the flowmaster setup with dual rear pipes. Flowmaster has a new setup that runs a single three inch pipe, but that's probably way overkill for your setup.
Im running a custom setup with JBA headers. I am very satified with them. They were a little expensive because i had the dual air injection on my manifolds. there was only on flange bold that was difficult to get. If i had to put them on again i would clearence the runner tubes around the ports to make sure the wrench fit. Avoid the edelbrock cat backs. The kit for my 94-f250 didnt fit for ####. When i called to expess my feeling on the fit i found they were a little rude and didn't want to help me out. So im gona bash them and i told them this when i hung up on the the 3rd time.
I am concerned about the Cats on my 89, 2WD 5.0L, and am thinking off-road-exhaust. Will I be forced to get headers for it, or is there a bolt-on off-road h-pipe out there for my truck?
