Carb spacer

Hi all,

I wanna order a 1" carb spacer for my 400 and don´t know to choose between a 4-hole one or a open space one. After the rebuild I left the thin metal spacer that came with the carb away and now I have some hesitation when accelerating smoothly from idle.

Will "Phenolic" do or must be metal/aluminium ?

Carb is a Edelbrock 1406 and Edelbrock performer intake.
Any informations are welcome !

Get the 4 hole in either material.

Will "Phenolic" do, Yes. It has less heat transfer in my opinion, so I would get that one. I have an aluminum one, cause I couldn't find a 1" in another material. If you good at wood working, i have seen guys make them out of wood, and they really like em.
