Let me ask you this...what would cause that to blow off? A bad clamp?
More than likely your boots are just getting old. Oil mist from the CCV system takes a toll on them over time, and yours are probably due to be replaced.
If I read the OP correctly, it was the cold side CAC tube at the intercooler discharge that came undone. If his is like mine, that is a one piece hard plastic tube that goes from the cooler discharge to the intake elbow. So no rubber or silicon boots to degrade and fail.
If I'm correct about the tube style, I would suspect either a broken clamp or a split in the tube. I would remove the tube and inspect both it and the clamp. To remove the tube, remove the air box, loosen the upper and lower clamps then pull the tube off of the intake elbow. You should then be able to turn the tube and pull it up and out completely. I'd give it a good inspection, replace the lower clamp with a new Ford OEM part just for good measure and then put it back in.
