I was moving my transfer case and transmission to neutral to check my rear brakes, got it all in neutral and my truck just shut off! Like I just turned the key off. I put everything back to park and 2 wheel drive. Now it still wont start. Im getting power to the glow plugs, getting power to the front plug on top of the IP, nothing to the rear one. Im getting fuel to the Injector pump also.
Im thinking its something to do with a neutral safety switch? I checked all the fuses under the dash. How can I tell or bypass the neutral safety switch? Im kinda puzzled on this.
I took a test light to the thick black wire with orange running that runs from the fender mounted solenoid to the alternator and got power.
check the two bolts that hold on the shift lever, mine dropped one out so it got loose and it wouldnt start or do anything just like you mention because it couldnt engage park. I have a c6 so the nss is different but i am sure someone will chime in.
