Hook up Nav to IGN

I have a Garmin navigation that I mounted on the windshield on the left hand side. I ran the cord down the A Pillar and behind the dash to the 12 volt hole that stays on the whole time. But I want to hardwire it in to a spot when i turn the truck off that the GPS turns off too. Like cut the cigarette lighter end off and wire it up to the right spot. But I dont know where that spot is???

Each his own. I like being able to switch it on and off from a leaning back position.

Also, very curious, now...What are you using your upfitter switches for?

I think it will be difficult to find a 12V source like you want. Most of the lights, switches, and wires under there run at low voltage. It's a trick auto manufacturers went to a long time ago. Most systems other than the HVAC, Radio, 12V sockets run at 7 volts or so to save energy and provide the ability to increase the amount of electronic devices that can be run by the battery and alternator.
