So what is the loudest nicest sounding muffler on the market for a big old truck. I want it to be really loud and deep sounding. I know this could cause some conflict amongst you, , but thanks for your input!

this is so subjective we could never reach a conclusion. 40 series Flows do sound good on a lot of things, but out of place on others. Glasspacks sound great on older big blocks w/o emissions equipment, but crappy on most newer cars. Magnaflows sound great on most anything but are too high pitched and racy for some. Some like straight pipes, some like their exhaust more refined. Personally, I like a relativly conservative exhaust. A quiet chug at idle, a strong burble under acceleration and as quiet as possible when cruising.
No mufflers-loud but el-cheapo sounding
Glasspacks-nice and loud, with a stick you can really turn the girl's heads,
Flowmasters-with a built engine, these things come to life, deep, hollow sound at the stoplight, glass-packy sounding at wide open throttle
Best solution: Flowmaster on one pipe, glasspack on the other. When you get sick of one, have a buddy drive and stick your head ou the pass. side window
Lol, sounds good to me. I would definetly go with flows. I have a set of flows i got off of ebay that were for a mustang cobra. They are the 40 series, 3 in. in and out and they fit since i redid the exhaust. They sound really nice. Glasspack sound nice too. I rain a single glasspack for awhile before i got the flows.
For everday use, Flowmaster seems to be the muffler Id recommend. I had a dual Dynomax race magnum mufflers on my old 76 F250 (4" OD, 3" of which was straight through, and a half inch of perforated space making up the rest. At idle, it worked as a 'muffler', anything besides that, it pretty much was straight pipes). Technically, its a muffler, right? 40 Series Flows seem to be the most popular muffler I have ran across.
