Sounds like you got the fire to get "Sally" going. Good Luck and take lots of pics and keep us posted. Welcome to the site there are plenty here with lots of experience and knowledge so your in the right place for questions.
Thanks boxer.fan one quick question, With the 460, I was told it came out of a Lincoln (police interceptor) and, therefore, puts out a lot of torque and not as much HP. Can i trust that info? Also, when restored with no mods, I can expect 200-220 HP from her?
Take the vin on the title and match it to the vin on the id plate riveted to the inside of the drivers side door edge. And match it to the white id tag/sticker on the drivers side door jam by the striker. (**** that the door latches shut on)
Or you can get the vin off the passenger side top side fram rail sort of in line with the alternator, or under the pass side seat on top of the frame rail again. (that's the hard one)
You should of checked for a vin match before you bought it, IMO, if the door tag and sticker do not match, the PO might have changed the door sometime.
