The truck is located in Conyers GA about 25 miles east of Atlanta on I-20.

Turned it over today. Motor fired. Lead mechanic strongly suggested converting to 12 v system. Thoughts??

Definitely convert it to 12V. I'm not sure if the generator mount for the 337 engine is that same as the 239 engine, but if it is, the best deal on the mounting bracket for an alternator that I found was here.

It has been awhile since my last post but we have been busy. Converted to 12V, new wheels, tires, paint job, re-did alot of original parts, powered coated running boards, etc. Running electrical now. will be in a parade in early December.

Rite on, to have the ol'e girl out cruisin the streets she once protected for another generation to appreceiate, is pretty darn cool. Good job. Any pictures?

Dan, pics have to be uploaded to a third party photo hosting site, like flickr, picasa, etc., then linked here. I know I'll be excited to see them.

 

Can you load them up to photobucket and then give us a link there?
I put all my pictures on photobucket, it is easy there.

 

If you tried what was posted in post #10 and it did not work than we need to contact the Moderators and get it fixed.

Or become a supporter and just upload from yer desktop.

 

Which Rockdale County Fire Dept do you work out of? I live in Conyers..just off of Honey Creek Rd near Ebenezer..about a mile or so from Station #2

You can also go to the "Garage" tab and start an album right here on FTE. After you post pictures to an album, we can look in your album, but you'll also be able to "insert a picture" by pasting in a link to the picture in your album.

It seems awkward, but whenever you "insert a picture" to one of these threads, the forum is looking for the picture somewhere on the web (which is always available) rather than from somewhere on your hard drive (which isn't always available).

It sounds like you've done quick work on your project!!
