I have a huge problem with a 08 S/D It is a 550. The truck had a fire extinguisher explode in it 2 years ago/ The only thing I knew to do was take a hose to the interior and wash it out---the residue was EVERYWHERE!!!
Apparently something got wet that should not have gotten wet. Every time it comes a heavy rain, the truck will not start the next day. The instrument cluster is DEAD !! It all ways has cranked a couple hours into the first dry day...after we take a hair dryer and blow around the cluster. That may or may not help .A local Ford dealership tech took the cluster out and put dilectric grease into the wire plug in...that was Aug 12 of 14. I seem to think the truck is in theft mode in its condition. I carried it to the dealership on a rollback today so the tech could catch it in its "dead mode" As soon as we rolled it off the rollback,, it sat there for 20 minutes waiting on a stall to open,, (in the sunshine),, and it cranked when they got in it. You know the problem quits when you hear the door chimes going off. In its dead state, only the radio, lights, horn work...NOTHING else...all dead.
I need the PROS on this...its a needle in a haystack...BTW..this is a work truck,, it has to roll most every day---HELP...Thanks,, Dan
I'm sure you have but have you pulled your fuse panel and cleaned really well? Abc dry chemical and powder is ver corrosive and will ruin anything
IAFF beat me to it..... but he is right.
I Imagine you will have electrical issues from now on... time to get it dry and trade it in.... or get your insurance company involved....
Definitely considering it, this is the second time in 2 years I have a 40K paperweight sitting in my driveway while its snowing. Have a heater in the cab as we speak!
