ibleedblue's 79 F250 build
Decided I needed a new toy to play in the mud and the local off road park, found this while cruising through craigslist. Looking for something cheap and in decent shape that didn't need a complete rebuild to start off with. Picked this 79' f250 up for $850. Its gonna be a good starting point being that its pretty solid, has a good runnin 460, 4:10 gears, and some other odds an ends. I already sold an extra 2wd tranny that came with it for $100, so im in $750. Plan on keeping the 4:10 gears(gonna run tires in the 35-37" range). The rear is d60 with a detroit locker. The front is a 44 that i would like to replace with a d60 when I come across one...
The 460 has a edelbrock torker intake manifold w/holley carb. Has a msd 6al box and blaster coil. Also came with headers and a good exhaust...

Yeah, plus the guy threw in a brand new molded carpet for the floor that I'm selling to a friend of mine.
Spent some time yesterday cleaning out the interior. Doing away with a rats next of speaker wires, cleaning the floor, etc. Getting ready to put down the some bed liner in the interior for easy washing.

Well worked on the truck earlier today, and got the floor finished up. I've used several different types of bed liners but had never used the Rust-oleum brand bed liner. At $17 a quart I figured to give it a shot. It seems a lot better than Duplicolor as it actually has a texture to it. Herculiner is by far the best Ive used, but this was cheaper.
Cleaned the floor with paint thinner, scuffed it up with sandpaper, and than cleaned again.
Finished
Next on my list is replace the two rear body mount bushings on the rear of the cab, as they seem to be completley missing!

Looks good Jesse.
You might consider swapping that Torquer intake out for a Stealth. The single plane design of the Torquer isnt meant for low rpm use. With the Stealth it will really make a difference off idle and pull just as many RPM as your current setup. I think the name "torquer" misleads most people.
Otherwise great build.

Alright I've been wondering what I should do suspension wise with this truck. The 3/4 ton springs are not going to flex, and I would like to have it at least flex somewhat. What would you guys recommend for a cheap/flexy leaf springs? F150 leafs or 63" chebbys? Let me know what you think, when it starts to get warmer outside I will hammer down on this project...

are you talking for the front, rear, or both? and how much lift are you looking for if any?
i read some older posts that were saying super duty front springs are damn near a bolt in swap for the front, but you have to hog out the bolt holes and trim the eye bushings or something to that effect.
little more info please. thanks
