Installed the Ford 7L3Z19G364AA Remote start and security system in my 2006 F350. Question is I have the 6 button remote and users manual says to just press and hold the "key" button to start.

I have to hit the "unlock" then "lock" then the start button to get it to activate.

Did I do something wrong???

 

How much was the remote start? Do you have fords karr security?

 

Do you have a photo of that system?

 

I installed one on my'08 earlier this year and do not have to do that. Go back over your wiring and programming to make sure it is correct, and if so you may have a bad part. I had a bad control module on installation and had to replace it. Don't forget you have to program the ignition ring as well. If I remember right there was a typo on the factory instructions but I don't remember where.

 

I don't have the ignition ring PATS System on mine. Just have to hit lock and start which is normal.

I got the system with the Ford Factory Security through parts guy ED and it was less than $260 + shipping. Took me 4.5 hours to install trimming all wires, soldering and shrink wrapping them.
