I have seen these on only a few trucks. The chrome plates behind the outer door handles. Were these an original Ford item or after market? I found new ones on Ebay but they don't quite look like I remember them. If anyone has them on their truck can you post a close up pic for me?
I have been looking at those plates also, I think they would look good on my 64 custom cab. I thought I saw them at NPD , LMC and a couple others ,but I don't remember the prices. I like shiny things.
You'll also need the longer push buttons for door handle. Make sure you get them. The ones on ebay will work but not everyone selling them on ebay gives you the longer push buttons.
On a side note, look close at the pictures on ebay, you'll notice there is a couple in boxes, the name on the box is what you want to search for. You'll be surprised at the price, compare to what the people are selling them for.
I would do it for you but you and others need to look close at pictures to find out who sells them and go to their web site and check prices.
They are a 63 to 66 item. Introduced in 1963 but will fit all years.
Garbz
That answers my next question (I think) I was wondering if the repros were metal or plastic. Has anyone bought these? I like the looks of them and not only will they fit a slick but the will work on my 1959 Ranchero as well. Bothe vehicles share the same door handle. The only difference is the 1959 version has the key lock in the push button.
