'97 F-150 Overdrive light flashes. I've only seen this happen twice in the last 3 months. The owner's manual says to take the truck in for repair. What's the cause and is this serious? This may be related to my previous post... 4X4 Won't Engage...
Thanks for any help-- Craig
I seem to recall reading somewhere that flashing the overdrive light is how the auto's tell the driver a tranny fault code is set. (I know, that's not earth-shattering information). I'll bet you could find the codes online somwhere. It's an even safer bet that one of these guys on here have that info sitting around somewhere and will soon reply with it
I dont think the flashing light has anything to do with no 4x4.
I can't find much on it right now but I do know that a malfunctioning speedo can cause the light to flash as can solenoid problems inside the transmission.
If you want I can do some more digging for info.
