My 2011 5.0 F150 Lariat just came in missing back up camera

I ordered it, but somehow it never got put in. Doesn't it come with the nav unit anyway? I'm wondering if anyone has had one put in and connected to the Sony nav unit? And how much did it cost? Is the wiring harness already there?

It should support it, mabe not the harness, but if you ordered it and it's on the paper work, hold the dealer's feet to the fire to install it.

I know, trust me I tried to get them to take care of it, but they are not willing to do it for free. I will try and get them to at least give me the camera and I'll install it myself..

Do you have a copy of your order showing that the camera was included in your purchase? Before they hit the send button; my dealer has customers go over a printout of their order & initial it and then they save it in the order file...just in case If you have any paperwork from your initial order showing that you ordered a reverse camera and you did NOT sign anything different, then your dealer should make you whole because either they or the factory dropped the ball and you should not have to pay for someone else's mistake.

It doesn't comes automatically with the Navigation system. For the Lariat, you have to get the Lariat Plus Package (order code 61L) which includes the rear camera, reverse sensors, garage opener, and a few other goodies.

Did you and/or your salesman order this Lariat Plus package? What does it say on your window sticker under the options on the right side of the sticker?

I agree with msalyer: if you ordered it and it did not come in as ordered, go to another dealer and reorder.

+1 on the above... and call Ford directly and file a complaint against the dealer for screwing up your order and then not making it right.

Ditto, if it does not come exactly as ordered, you do not have to take the truck. The dealer would have to install it free of charge or I would walk and reorder the truck, hopefully the incentives are still as good or better than when you first ordered.

Well the problem is that I don't have time to order a new truck, I had to get this one to write off the taxes. So anyway I ended up taking the truck as is. They showed me that Lariat plus package now and said that I didn't get charged for it. Back when I ordered the truck they didn't have all of the packages setup like they are now. Anyway I told them I would put one in myself and I got them to give me a check for 200.00.. I found the OEM camera online for 180.00 and a harness for 39.00 I just need to find the backup sensors and put them in.. I'm still pissed about the whole deal, they said they would order a new truck but it's too late for that and I sure don't want the 2010 with the 5.4 after driving the 5.0..

that stinks, they should have been well aware of the packages when you ordered. From your other post, it appears you ordered in late October. Well, I got a copy of the order guide from early September and the packages are clearly spelled out in it so the excuse of not knowing the package (Lariat Plus) is total BS!

You would think so, however after having the best buying experience ever (really was pretty much straight up no bs) I didn't really hammer them as much as I usually would have.. They were willing to reorder me a truck, but just don't have the time to wait for it..

I have the same problem!

I ordered a 2011 lariat ecoboost with the options I wanted and then the dealer traded for almost the same vehicle I wanted. I bought the truck they had and didn't notice that the lariat plus package was not on the truck they had in stock. I find out yesterday when I flew from Kansas to Ohio, I wanted the truck anyway but would like to add the back-up camera and possibly the other lariat plus options. Have you taken the ford emblem off to see if the tailgate is pre-wired?

It's not there. The bean counters are trying to keep their jobs and cutting costs everywhere I guess. Anyway the good news is you can get the stuff you need cheap on ebay. I installed my camera, but still need to get a reflash on the Sony pos.. I still think Ford dropped the ball on this one, backup cam and sensors should all be included on the nav package to begin with.

I was thinking about adding the camera to mine as well....I actually found a truck I liked, and didn't even think about that option until I got home after buying it and looking through the manual....I really could use that option too...lol

Can you tell me what all you did need to make this work? I have a 2011 Lariat too with the sony navigation system.
