Prolly would work best on the thinner metal "tin can" types, lol but with enough heat and cold applied, i would say more than once... it may work on the older metal.

That method will only work on newer cars that are built like beer cans. I use this method for shrinking metal at dents(old timer taught it to me) on older cars/trucks. But instead of heat gun, a torch is used and a wet rag to cool down. Obviously you cant use a torch in this application. But the area is still weaker and could pop back in with a slight bump. (on the sienna)
I remember dumping boiling water on my old 70's trans am bumpers that were out of whack.Worked pretty good.I know I removed alot of dents in hoods with a DA sander,just the heat did it.
