Smelling Gas Flooded

Mine floods easily, after short trips.
When I try to start it hits hard and floods, then pulls the battery down.
I have to prop the choke open with my comb.
In your case, it might just mean that the float needle is sticking.
Tap around the fuel inlet and see if that will dislodge the float needle.
If you can blow air into the carburetor while trying to start, it should help evaporate the fuel and the flooded condition.

Being 7 degrees outside, everything has to be perfect for it to start. Choke problems, weak battery or weak ignition, worn plugs, any of these become big problems during really cold weather.
To verify if it's really flooded, pull some of the sparkplugs and see if they are wet and smell like gas.
Or if it's too cold for that and you really need the truck, go down to the store and buy a can of ether. Pull open the choke door on top of the carb, spray a little bit down inside the carb, hold the gas pedal to the floor and see if it will start.

i have new spark plugs and wires. ran fine till i let it sit for couple of days. i pulled out couple plugs did not smell gas on plugs, was dry. i sprayed a small shot of carb starter in it and it shot out a flame out of carb. i dont think its out of timing. battery weak now. will get it charged again.

If you do see the fuel squirt into the engine, get into the truck, pump the gas pedal 4 times before cranking the engine, and then crank it and see what happens. If it stalls on you again, pump it 2 more times before cranking the engine and when it fires, quickly pat the gas pedal to keep it running.
