Front output seal replacement

Front output seal replacement
2001 Expy Bw4406 TC. Anyone replaced the front output shaft seal. I know you have to take the TC apart to get the front hub out of way to get to the seal. The only directions I have is the FSM and it gives directions to tear the whole case down. I was hoping some one had done this job before and new some short cuts and what actually you have to take a part to get the front hub out.

I haven't done this so I am guessing. You should be able to just drop the front shaft and unbolt the flange/hub to access the seal. It would surprise me if you had to remove the t-case, and really surprise me if you had to dissassemble the case. Every one I have ever seen was doable with no real dissassembly.
Unbolt the front driveshaft and have a look before you get into removing the t-case.

The Borg & Warner 4406 doesn't use a bolt on flange it is one piece and is held on by a snap ring inside the TC. My question is how big a tear down is it. If it just separate the two halves and take the snap ring loose and remove shaft and not disturb the planet gears and clutch pack and all the shifting forks then yeah I would probably try it. Other than taht it is off to a shop.
