Yes those are on stock rims, any larger than 285s and I would go to a wider rim. I just did not want to mess with a leveling kit or springs at this time. The 285s do everything I need them to do.
dont do a full exhaust or a cai...Super duties already run 3inch exhausts, if you want the sound just change out the muffler or take it out completely...Don't use a cai because they wont provide benefits the stock system is more than adequate. An aftermarket cai will also allow more dust particulates into the motor and shorten the life span. Use the money you save on these and buy a quality lift kit.
couldnt disagree with you more. the CAI was by far "THE" best mod ive done to my truck. i couldnt imagine using this truck without it anymore. not to mention ive got well over 130k miles with the K&N filter on there, with no repurcussions. That dust particle thing is a wives tale. Now the exhaust, also is a 2.5" system that is COMPLETELY restricted. Gained 10% mileage increase with a CAI kit and exhaust system .ya thats 1mpg
The exhaust on a superduty is a 3 inch system. f150s have 2.5 inch exhausts. I am not saying anything about dust particulate or even talking about k and n filters, i run one in my truck. But the stock system is a cai and spending 200 dollars on a new intake system is not worth it in my opinion. The op is asking for best gains. Gears and tuner.
better get your tape measure out. the 05+ may have a 3" but my 04 had a 2.5" from the cats back from the factory..not going to get into a pi$$ing match over it...just sayin the 200 bux i spent on the CAI system was the best 200 i spent on the truck
no pissing match just want the correct info so the OP knows what size muffler to get and for other members future reference...i measured and got three inches. 2.5 maybe leading to the cat? but cat to muffler is 3 unless i measured wrong, i put a 3 inch inlet 3inch outlet with my stock exhaust.

what kind of exhausted did you do? a muffler or catback? or a full exhaust?
it looks like im going to have a good christmas this year my girl friend ordered me a k&n cai today... and im not for sure on this but i believe my parents got me a leveling kit, but as for the exhaust i measured it and it is a 3inch so i think im going to go ahead and order a muffler what kind im not to sure of... whats your guys opinion on doing headers is it worth the money doing it ? mike from five star said to look at gibson or headman, and I called attituid performace which was recommeneded in an earlyer post and they recommended jba? and also quoted me 700 for install of the headers is that a normal price to have headers put on these trucks?
thanks for all the feed back guys and merry christmas
I have a 2004 Reg cab 250 and no lift with 285/75R16 tires with no rubbing issues. When it comes time to replace weak front springs I think I will go with the X code springs with 350 rear blocks. Also maybe an adjustable track bar because of the height difference. Enjoy your truck and welcome to the website.
if i do a leveling kit do i need to do an adjustable track bar? or upgrade anything before hand?
cant help you with much else but i love my flowmaster 50 series its loud without being obnoxious or annoying but mufflers are a personal preference thing. if you go on flowmaster they have videos as well as going on you tube and searching.
Rough Country has a 2.5" leveling kit with everything including springs and track bar for $450.00. Maybe someone has used this kit and chime in with how good it worked out.
If you get headers you are looking for long tube headders. You will be looking for a tq increase not a hp increase. Typically short style headders will improve top end performance. Long tube will improve low end. Low end tq is what gets you moving and will make it feel more powerful. $700 sounds like a lot but remember that studs break and they can be a real pita so they are likely covering a$$
