e4od slips bad when mlp plugged in and only on take off and 1-2 shift when not????
okay my e4od is slipping bad when the mlp is plugged in.slips in every gear and slips when going into every gear, but not in reverse.when I unplug the mlp it only slips when I take off(kind hard) and 1-2 slips alittle and shakes when changing 1-2.all other gears are fine and never slips in reverse...is the mlp sensor bad or a shift selonoid bad?I did a tranny fluid and filter change and added bens tranny treatment today and the fluid still looks dark like oil.

Check for codes, what the computer have to say about it?
Sure sounds like the MLPS, don't believe the 93 model has the updated version?
Has the truck been in the water, MLPS at or even under water? Drive in heavy rain or slush lately? Say just before the problem started?
You can test the MLPS, just need a multimeter to do so.

If the trans is actually slipping then I think its done. But the VSS will cause trans problems(bouncing speedo, slamming gears)
MLPS will also cause the trans to shift funny. Slip out of gear also.
Ive had both the MLPS and VSS(RABS) problems in my truck.
But if the trans is actually slipping at take off then I say its done for.
Alot of info on E4OD problems if you want to use the search function you might get some quicker answers.

Okay gotcha. Pull the RABS and clean it and reinstall(half inch wrench). disconnect battery for 5 mins and then drive it and see if it fixed it.

i alligned the marks on the mlp and plugged it in and cleaned the rabs sensor.when in drive the tranny still slips and even slips when in gear and i step on the gas.when I shift it down to 1st and take off it dont slip but does when it goes to 2nd and when i put it in d it will slip when i step on the gas..when the mlp is unplugged,it will slip/shatter when shifting to 2nd and when i have it in d it dont slip when i step on the gas.

Well either its got bad problems and is toast or its got problems with the the EPC solenoid or its circuit so the pressure doesn't increase. Based on what you stated it should be in limp mode, full pressure.
Connect a gauge to the pressure tap, see what that tells ya.
Dropping the pan might shed instant light on the tran's condition, pieces parts chunks of this and that wouldn't be a good sign.
Heck might find the filter fell off.

where do i test the pressure?
The pressure test port is just forward of the MLPS and just above the pan line, a small pipe type plug.
I'm kinda surprised you get no error codes the way it acts, try running the KOEO test again. If its just a electrical problem the computer should have something to say about it.

Yea when I said no codes I meant for the trans itself. A VSS issue by itself shouldn't cause the problems you have. And if it was the computer, if everything else was as it should be, it should change into limp mode jacking up the pressure to prevent it from slipping until it can be looked at.
