2003 Ford F550

Hello,

I am thinking about purchasing the following vehicle:

Ford F550/year 2003/Dump Truck

I got the price down to $16,000 (minus the cost to fix the wiper switch) from $18,000. Is this a fair price? I am new to the truck world (just started a trash pick up company) but after doing some browsing, this looks like a steal. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks!

which motor?

6.0L diesel turbo power house. I guess they had problems with this motor a few years ago and Ford did a recall and "crimped" something - not too truck savvy, just going off what I was told...

It is also set up for a plow.

Price is reasonable. Looks good. There were some changes to the 6.0 to make it more dependable in 05. The folks in the 6.0 forum will know more about that.

There were some problems with the uppipes and wiring harness rubs on that year model but its probably already been fixed on that one. I would want to crank it when it was cold and see how it performs cold.
