You need those pieces in the filter housing. IIRC your hpop resevoir will drain without it. There's pictures of it around here somewhere, hopefully someone will chime in and give it to you, I don't have it.

I'm not sure on your electrical problem.

They did not put a snap ring to hold the valve in until 96 or 97. The good news is you found the parts. The bad news is you have to put it back in.

yep i could have very easly dumped them in the used oil drum !
it was chance that i didnt ! the weather was bad and i slowly poured it out into a bucket
i wonder how many trucks are out there without this check valve in them !!!??

i found a parts break down of the assembly it shows a snapring,, i cant see how the
parts could have made it into the filter this way ! it must have broken thru upwards.

this part list shows o-rings and ???? looks like if you dont repace everything, oil leak city.

well it must not be the correct year..list

more help please.........

I take a WAG on this one, CPS (cam position sensor). I know not from experience but from reading on here plugging in a camper or trailer and if the engine trys to stall then replacing the CPS has resolved the issue. It's an electrical noise thing. Turn signals also generate electrical noise. Newer CPS's have better noise suppression filtering.

thanx all for the help, this is a great forum ! lots of knowlage out there!!

hussler: the wag sure fits and makes sense.

i have had this truck sinse it rolled off the rail car from the factory, been a
great work horse.

i was warned about the cps years ago, and bought one , thru it in the glovebox just in case! so i still have the factory senser in there.
cant find it anywhere now. i must have put it in my tool box at one time, but my tool box decided it didnt like me anymore and grew legs a few years back, that was a major p-off !!!!

thanx again
