Timing???
Can anyone tell me the timing for a 76 390 4V in a F250 trailer special? When I bought it in Oct, there was a paint mark on the harmonic balancer at 8 degrees ABOVE TDC. I am pretty certain that is not right. I currently have it at 8 decrees BTDC but it still runs very rough. Thanks for any help...

Is "madvancing" a freudian slip or a typo? :-)
I agree. Advance it until it pings then back off. Should be around 12 for a mostly stock setup. Remember to check for pinging at higher RPMS.

I don't understand how that happened. The M is no where close to the A. My fingers just ain't that fat.
