Holley 500 2barrel.
I was at a carb shop today. Noticed a Holley 500cfm 2barrel hanging on the wall. My question is this - What benefits if any would I get from this size carb on a stock 400 in my 78' or a stock 360 in my 71' crew?
It only cost $230 rebuilt. A good deal to me. A rebuilt 2150, which I planned on getting to replace the one on the 78', is $140. $90 more for a carb that can suck in a 1/2 times more air seems like a good idea.?

I would go for it but before you run out and buy it check the price on a NEW one ..the last time I priced out a new one it was $230.00 its up to you though personaly i would rather have a new one then a rebuilt one..I intend to put one on my '75 360. My friend runs one on his '73 360 and what a big difference more power and better throtle responce..I think you will like it

Thanks guys, for your response. I believe I have pondered on to something.
This carb should be able to haddle some minor upgrades to, like a slightly bigger cam? But also keeping the fuel consumption down. I hope I am not pushing my luck. The cam would come later, just an after thought.
