Replacing ALL Gear Fluids ??
My 98' Explorer 4x4 XLT has about 96K on it.
I have had the Transmission Fluid / Filter replaced fairly regularly.
However, I'd like to get ALL gear fluids replaced soon:

>Question is about taking it to an established 3rd party place like JiffyLube (or other) rather than the dealer.
I talked to one recently. They seem to have all the up to date info on the correct fluids - they have one of those special Fluid TRANSFER Machines, etc.
Any feedback regarding using the 3rd party would be appreciated. (as well as any suggestions regarding additives)
--I plan to drive this Explorer as long and possible and know that the fluids are the most important thing for long mileage.
Thanks
I've heard that 98 model Explorers use 100% synthetic for all the gear fluids. Is this true....and is there an advantage to using additives (zmax, etc)?
Thanks
