Hi Guys. Quick question for you. When I picked up the truck I was expecting the Sirius packages to be activated (they always had been on my company cars). But it seems that some of the functions are not there. I can get fuel prices, traffic for my area but the radio part seems to be in some sort of partial live state. I can get a couple of channels but I also get a splash screen telling me to call this number: 888-539-7474 to activate it.
When I bought my 08 I had to do the same, although I did it right there at the dealer.
They need your basic info. When you call be in the truck with the radio on, they will need the radio subsrcriber code off the radio. It should be in the display.

Thanks for the information. I suspected something wasn't right. I have the ESN that I pulled from the radio. It just seems strange that it is partially active. I would have expected all or nothing...
At least maybe you will get the full free 6 months when you activate. I bot mine off the lot in Aug and the dealer had activated the free trial in July. So, when I called to activate, sirrius said my six month clock was already clicking. Oh well, the full subscription helped me make up my mind when I test drove it. Only lost 1 month anyway.
+1, it should have been on the checklist the dealer went through when you bought the truck; sign you up for Synch and start Sirius.for you. I did when I picked up my truck.

Unfortunately this dealer has not been stellar since I have been working with them. Today I went over the truck and found a nice scratch on the entrance to the cab. They probably put the vacuum up on the cab step and dragged it along the chassis when they were doing the "detailing". It was not there when I checked out the truck before the "detailing"...
I picked up my unit Tuesday, and everything was active.
I'm guessing when the dealer records the sale online it tells Sirius to activate the 6 month trial. There was a card to activate the "best of XM", which I did not do.
On a side note
I registered the VIN number with flmowners.com several weeks ago.
On Wednesday I looked, and it had the sales date recorded also.
Your are right, it is partially activated - the traffic, weather info can be activated independently of the radio.
I don't need the Sirius radio, but I sure would like to keep the gas prices and the traffic alerts. Do you know if that is a separate plan? I can't even figure out how long the free trial is.
