I was on my way home tonight when i slowed down enough for the tranny to downshift into first but didn't come to a stop. When i took off, the truck shifted into second, set a CEL and didn't allow me to get over 35mph... Pedal to the floor and still 35mph. I am trying to find someone to scan my truck to get the code. Anyways, i pulled over and turned the truck off, then fired back up and we were good to go.
I'm just guessing but it sounds like your trans put you into a limp mode. Was the OT light flashing? Did the cel stay on after the restart? I'm sure someone smarter then I am will come along.

No, i watched OD light and it never flashed. CEL went away upon restart. I will get the code asap, might be a little while until i can. Just curious if this sounds like something anybody has ever experienced.
hmm well anywere after 120k your should count your blessings with extra power lol what do you have for mileage? all i can really say is just wait and see if you get a CEL, my red truck slipped like a **** with the TC locked in a certain tune, never set a light thoe.
hmmmm thats interesting, how many miles on the rebuild and who did it? starting to wonder if the company used cheap solenoids, there was a horror story over at psn a few months ago or mabe early this year? any who, the newly "rebuilt" tranny had poor solenoids and cheaper parts installed and it did similar to what yours is/was doing.
Yeah being rebuilt doesn't mean a whole lot anymore. The previous owner of my red obs went through 3 trannies in 215k. Just one more reason to get a bts and never have any problems again
Justin, did yours have the BTS when you bought it or did you buy it? Also, if you bought it, did you go to his shop to get it done?
Yes and no. A good friend of mine bought the truck brand new. Me and him did all the mods while he owned it and the trans was done when he owned it also but we took the truck to bts to get done and I also met jody when we took it to georgia to get live tuned.
Were you driving in the snow or rain or nasty cold when this happened? My first suspicion would be the speed sensor on the rear axle. Pull the connector off and see if it is corroded or wet inside. That should turn on your od light flashing too though. And the abs light. But that is what it usually does to the transmission.

No sir. It was normal driving conditions. It hasn't been too cold but fairly cold. 20's at night, 40's in the day. I can check the connector tomorrow when there is light. My OD light did not flash and neither did the abs light.
Getting the truck scanned tomorrow... Should know. By the way. I topped off my crankcase and it shifted fine today... Seems weird to me but hey if the shoe fits, wear it! I can't wait to find out what the code was that put it into limp mode. Report back tomorrow with findings.
