2 quick (probably silly) questions

1. Voltage on my GPR hot side is 12.46v, on the opposite large post got 11.20v with the key on. Gpr bad? Replaced it only a few weeks ago. Hot side had broken completely off on the old one.

2. Did the AIH delete this past summer. I read that the relay in front of the GPR is for the intake heater. When I did the AIH delete I just pulled the leads from the AIH. Should I completely remove this relay?

When the GPR operates it is energizing the GPs and the volts will drop. Check both large posts when operated and the readings should be very close to the same. If not the GPR contacts are not making real well.

The AIH relay can be used as a GPR so if you remove it keep it in the truck. Also if you remove the control leads you will get a soft code, no SES light but a dtc will be set. There will be no adverse effect from this soft code.

Nope, GPR is fine, you will get a loss from the gp's running full tilt.

If you undo the terminals, I would cut them flush and tape them up. You can also just unplug the AIH and leave the relay and the leads intact. The relay will still operate, but you will not get any power loss since it is not doing anything.

1. Sounds normal to me.. the 12.46 drops to 11.20 becuz your glow plugs have alot of resistance (they are heating elements) and the voltage will drop about 1 volt. The 11.20 should go to zero after a minute or so.. I just checked mine and get the same results..

i wouldnt leave an open hot lead. You can remove the red cable lead from the relay, just make sure you re-install the blue wire back on the relay post. the ground cable, on mine was a pita to remove the the ground lug, so i grounded the end to the post that holds the p.s. cover.

The glow plugs will lower the voltage when you turn the key on.I would say your relay is working fine
