Question Intermittent Power Loss

I am having a couple small problems, sorry if this gets a bit long
On a few occasions when I first start my truck I get a pretty good loss of power for about a minute then like a flick of a switch everything is fine.
The first time the truck had been sitting for a hour or so and when I first started it I couldn't back up a small hill.I put it in neutral revved it slightly and all was fine
The second time the truck had been sitting 5-10 minutes.I started it and took off and would only get to about 15 mph for about a minute, then took off like normal
The third time it sat over night in warm weather, started fine took off down the street and would only run about 20 mph full throttle. This time stopped at a light it idled a little rough then when I took off everything is good again
Most of the time everything is normal

The second part
When I take off at hard throttle it will take off slow and another like a flick of a switch it will take off like a rocket sometimes breaking traction taking off in second gear

Not sure if these two thing are tied together or not
The truck starts easy even in single digit temps and runs and pulls good and no codes.I have noticed less black smoke on hard take offs

I had wondered about that and even have a new one riding with me for 4-5 years
Thought I would get some expert opinions before changing it.I know there is a lot more knowledge out there than I have

If is not a sticking IPR or flakey ICP sensor then it could be the TPS.

Like Pat I am just regurgitating.

I had given the ICP some thought also and still haven't ruled it out but it's not doing any of the same suff it did when it went bad before

I thought maybe oil change also because it hadn't been changed in 22 months but only had about 4k miles on it.So I changed it before my last trip to Fla but it's still the same

With no codes present, my first guess would be IPR like the others have said.

Chris do you think the two problems could be both from the IPR?

I don't see why not. IPR issues can cause all sorts of symptoms. The PCM calls for the IPR to move to a certain spot and makes everything else act accordingly. If the IPR doesn't play along, everything else is trying to run based on faulty info. When the IPR starts working right, everything is back to normal all of a sudden.

If you've got a spare IPR, throw it in there. You can get a deep socket at NAPA that will fit with your ratchet in it. The only thing you need to remove is the appearance cover if you still have one.

Then just take off the tin nut, unplug and remove the soleniod, and unscrew the IPR.

I do have a new IPR I bought 5 or 6 years ago so it won't cost anything and my time ain't worth much/anything
I may wait til it gets a little warmer or I get the stove hooked up in my shop
I probly just gave away the socket I need but might have a spare
