I have a 96 ford Bronco and twice in the past week it would not turn over. Both times it has been after the engine was turned off and tried to be started again in about 15 minutes. I hear the fuel pump pressurize but then nothing else. The 1st time I tried to jump start it but it did not work. The battery had corrosion on it so I cleaned up the connections and the engine started. So I figured the problem was solved, but then today the vehicle was parked for 10 minutes and then would not turn over again. The Bronco then sat for 2 hours and when I tried to start it again it started right up. I did nothing to the vehicle, it just sat for 2 hours in 10 degree temperatures. So any advice would be greatly appreciated, Thanks, Chris
check the connection at the starter selenoid trigger wire,(flat blade terminal, small wire) ford has a revised terminal repair kit for just such conncern.
Had the same problem about a week or so ago (87 Bronco).,.. i replaced the solenoid and it kicked over once but died again so I moved onto replacing the battery cables, and the starter and threw in some new plugs for good measure. starts good now. Thinking of going one step further and replacing cap and rotor as well.
